The Edmonton Rally Club hosted the Northern Loon TSD rally this past weekend and I decided to enter it in historic class. It was a pretty challenging rally made a lot harder by the weather. We got hit with a massive storm that soaked everything and the final three regularities were really hard to keep pace. I was trying to make up time on muddy, twisty, narrow roads at 90 kmph and keeping the car on the road was quite a challenge.
I'm running 165R15 winters on stock wheels and they definitely weren't the best for the job. The 'baby shit' type mud was just flinging everywhere and I couldn't maintain any sort of traction. On those stages, we got behind early and had to push really hard to try to make time back up and it felt much more like a stage rally than a TSD!
